What kind of yarn do you use?

Majority of my handmade knitwear is uses the highest quality merino wool or a belnd of merino with cotton, silk or cashmere.  

How do I wash my item?

Because merino wool is odor resistant, it can be worn multiple times without the need for washing like man made fibers.  

 

When washing garments is needed, we recommend hand washing by soaking knitwear in cold water with wool safe detergent. Gently squeeze out (do not twist) excess water then wrap in a towel to further wring out water.  Reshape your knitwear and lay it flat to dry on a towel.  Be aware that wool can take 2-3 days to fully dry.  Do not use heat or tumble dry as this will damage your knitwear.​​

How fast will my order ship?

Ready to ship items listed in our shop will ship within 1-2 business days vis USPS.  Custom orders will vary based on project request and will be discussed with client prior to payment.

How do I place a custom order?

Send me an email via our contact form or at thelayeredthread@gmail.com with your inquiry.  I will do my best to reply within 24 hours but it may take up to 2 business days during the holiday season.

What is your return policy?

No refunds or returns accepted on custom or made to order knitted items or digital products.

Items that are "Ready to Ship": Returns accepted within 7 days if item is unworn/unwashed in original condition with IDTag intact at customers expense.  All handmade knitwear is shipped with IDTag.  IDTag must be intact and unaltered for item to be eligible for refund.  Tampering with IDTag in anyway will make item ineligible for return.  Please help us keep the integrity of our small business.  Try on your item in the comfort of your home.  Do not tamper with IDTag if you wish to return it.  Reuse the box/bag that your item was shipped in and return it to us in it's original condition.  If you love your item and wish to keep it forever, remove IDtag and enjoy your handmade knitwear.  

 

Please know that our handmade knitwear is crafted with the utmost attention to detail and quality, ensuring that you receive a product that exceeds your expectations. What if my package is lost?

All packages will be sent with a tracking number.  If after all efforts to resolve with shipping carrier have been exhausted and your package is not found, I will refund or replace your order.  Turnaround time for fulfillment will vary.
