About Ari Kids Sweater
This pattern was inspired by Malabrigo new yarn weight Noventa. A not too bulky superwash merino wool that knits up fast and is incredibly soft. The sweater is knit in simple stockinette with a cable detail on the sleeves. As a bonus, I've included a coordinating hat pattern.
Size
The fit is slightly relaxed with 3-4 inch positive ease. If you’re looking for an oversize fit, knit the next size up.
- Child Size 2 (4,6,8,10) years fit chest circumference of 21 (23,25,26.5,28) inches.
- Finished chest circumference will be 24 (26,29,31,32) inches.
Needles
US 10/6mm DPN and 16” & 24” circular needles for ribbing.
US 11/8mm circular needles 16”, 24”, 32” and DPN. Body and sleeves are knitted in this size needle. The shorter circular needle work great when starting the yoke before moving on to longer needles as stitches increase. DPN are needed for knitting sleeves in the round.
If using magic loop, you don’t need DPN.
Yarn
Bulky (5) Malabrigo Noventa 90yd/125g 3 (4, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
